The football trick video trend has invaded our neighbors to the north. Mike Reilly, quarterback for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, has release a trick video/ad for Reebok.
Because it is a commercial and not an organic video, that has cast some doubt about the authenticity of the video, and whether or not it is the result of special effects.
From the video’s about section:
The CFL has obtained some video footage from an off-season photo/video shoot in Toronto, where Jon Cornish, Travis Lulay, Mike Reilly, Adam Bighill, Jason Vega, Andre Durie, Marc-Olivier Brouillette and Brian Bulcke were brought together to try out some of Reebok’s new sideline gear and apparel.
In this video, you’ll see Mike Reilly putting a unique twist on his off-season training routine.
In the video, team mates throw tires in the air and he throws a football through them to a player on the other side. Through one tire is successful, and believable.
The second throw with two tires doesn’t get through, which might be a brilliant part of this ad by making one of the attempts unsuccessful. Then he throws a football through three tires and that seems a little un realistic. Not impossible though.
It is almost reminiscent of those “pick me” fantasy football ads.
