Clint Dempsey records rap album

Clint Dempsey just keeps getting bigger. He scored the lightning-quick first goal in the Ghana match that ended in a 2-1 USA victory. His team has more life in the World Cup than anyone gave them credit for thanks to their win and a stunning Portugal beat down. Now we learn that Dempsey recorded a rap album before the World Cup even began. America, meet rapper Deuce.

Yahoo! Sports reports that Dempsey recorded an album in Los Angeles before flying to Brazil. The article states, “The 13-track album will be called ‘The Redux’, and was recorded in LA before he travelled to Brazil for the tournament with rapper XO.”

These won’t be the first tracks laid down by Clint ‘Deuce’ Dempsey. He also did a video for Nike in 2006, as seen below.

There’s no word on a release date for the album, but it appears that it is finished at least in some form.

For now, Dempsey surely has bigger things to worry about, but once he gets home and gets some time to rest from the World Cup, perhaps we’ll have something closer to a release date.

Maybe if Captain Deuce can lead Team USA to some more unexpected wins, he’ll see a nice boost in sales while he’s at it.
