While LeBron James has yet to make an official decision on his pending free agency, it doesn’t appear as if the NBA superstar will be leaving the comforts of South Beach.

More from LeBron James

While James can still opt-out of his contract (something many seem to believe he will do) in effort to secure a long term contract, it doesn’t sound as if he’ll be testing the free agent market according to SportingNews who suggests he is ‘very likely’ to re-sign with the Miami Heat.

“With the way the Heat played against San Antonio, the fear in Miami has been that James would bolt this summer, looking for a situation with younger stars and a deeper roster. But a source close to the situation said that, while no final decisions have been made, James “is very likely” to stay in Miami.”

In all honesty, there’s very little reason for James to leave Miami despite the tough NBA Finals loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Coming off four straight Eastern Conference Finals appearances and winners of two of the previous three NBA Championships, the Heat are still among the league elite and they play in one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Sure, there are questions that surround the team like the health of Dwayne Wade and all of those will factor into James’ decision, but no matter where he signs he’d be facing some type of issue and/or adversity.

Of course, many believed James was going to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers before he joined the Heat, so until the former MVP speaks, nobody really knows his true intentions.
