On Thursday, the Buckeyes added their ninth commitment in the class of 2015 when 3-star cornerback Denzel Ward gave his pledge to the Buckeyes.

Ward attended the Buckeyes’ camp on Thursday. He was offered at the end of the day and quickly jumped all over the offer.

“They offered today,” Ward said via Steve Helwagen of 24/7 Sports. “They said I had a really good day today at the camp. I’ve been talking to Coach (Kerry) Coombs and Coach (Ed) Warinner for a while now over the past weeks and months. They said I had to get my grades up and I did that. I did everything they told me to do.

“I came to camp and I feel like I did a good job and they offered. I just like the facilities and the coaches a lot. I’ve watched them since I was little. I have wanted to play in the Big Ten and I got a chance.

“It felt great (to be offered). I will always remember it.”

The 5’11, 165-pound Ward is from Macedonia, Ohio and attends Nordonia High School. He is ranked as the country’s 50th-best cornerback prospect, the 30th-best overall prospect in the state of Ohio and the 653rd-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Ward also holds offers from the Cincinnati Bearcats, Kentucky Wildcats and Rutgers Scarlet Knights, among others.
