The Florida Panthers need to find a head coach to try and lead them into what fans are hoping is a fresh new era in the team’s history. That’s a lot easier said than done, but it appears the Panthers are trying their hardest to get a start on a new chapter in their franchise as soon as they can.
According to TSN’s Darren Dreger, the Panthers are planning on announcing their new head coach as soon as this weekend and likely no later than Monday.

There have been a slew of names mentioned as possibilities for the Panthers head coaching job and one of the more prominent names is that of former Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma. After being canned in Pittsburgh for failing to do anything with the best roster in hockey, the Panthers could be getting a coach with a chip on his shoulder and that’s exactly the spunk they need.
It could be any number of candidates that the Panthers hire, but the bottom line is that they are looking at making a hire soon and that’s the first step in the rebuilding process fans hope takes Florida hockey to the next level.
