When asked directly about playing Aquaman in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Game of Thrones actor flipped the script on Jimmy Kimmel and played coy about the entire thing.
It is pretty common knowledge by now that Jason Momoa, who played Dothraki warlord Khal Drogo on the HBO Original Series Game of Thrones is set to play Aquaman in the upcoming film Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
However, if you saw Jason Momoa on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, he would have you believe otherwise.
When asked about playing Aquaman, Momoa told Kimmel that those were just rumors.
Although, I must say he did so a very good job of playing to all of the ladies in the crowd.
After a quick remark about how people probably didn’t recognize him with his shirt on after watching Game of Thrones, which got a good rise of out the women in the crowd, Kimmel directed his line of questioning to Aquaman.
Kimmel asked Momoa if he would be donning the green leotards in the upcoming film. Momoa was quick to respond.
“Am I answering the question, would you like to see me in green leotards?” he answered with a smile.
As Kimmel pressed on, Momoa continued to deny his involvement in the project. Fortunately, Kimmel had his trusty little printout of an article from Variety stating that the Game of Thrones actor was in fact set to play the aquatic role.
“That would be pretty exciting, wouldn’t it?” Momoa said with a coy smile. “We’ll just have to wait. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
Take a look for yourself. Here is a look at Jason Momoa last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
During the course of the interview, Momoa never caved in and admitted to playing the Atlantean King; however, he never denied it either.
It actually comes as no surprise that he wasn’t all that willing to spill the beans on the role. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice has been kept under a pretty solid veil of secrecy with very controlled releases over the course of the film’s production.
While everything seems pretty much like a lock, as Momoa said, we’ll just have to wait and see for now.
During the remainder of the interview, he talks about his work on his latest film Road to Paloma and discusses the first time he ever noticed his wife, and Road to Paloma co-star, Lisa Bonet.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to be released on May 6, 2016.
