LinkedIn launches new app

LinkedIn has added yet another app to its catalog on Thursday.

The social media network built for professionals has released the LinkedIn Job Search app, which, as its name states, helps users search and apply for jobs. The app is the company’s sixth standalone app for users.

“It can be hard to search for a job while you’re at your desk, not to mention the potentially awkward conversation with your current boss,” product manager Daniel Ayele stated in a blog post “Our goal is to help make this process easier for you and to help you be discreet. Everything you do within the app will be completely private and not shared with your network.”

The app will include features such as detailed searches based on specifically entered criteria, job recommendations based on past searches and notifications for when new jobs are available, among other things. More details regarding the app’s features can be found via the network’s website.

Currently, the app is only available for iPhone users in the United States. An Android version of LinkedIn Job Search is expected to launch later this year. There has been no mention of when an international version of the app will be released.
