At long last the prophecy has been fulfilled. Steam Summer Sale 2014 is officially underway with hundreds of games getting price cuts ranging from 10-100% off.

Starting today, and lasting until June 30, fans can expect to see thousands upon thousands of games to get the ax when it comes to prices. Most games will have sales that last throughout the duration of the event, but some titles will only see their prices cut for a short period of time, so you will want to job on them when you see them.
You will know the sale price is for a limited time thanks to an indicator being next to the game’s price in the listing.

- Far Cry 3 — $7.49 (75% off)
- Day Z — $25.49 (15% off)
- Hotline Miami — $1.49 (85% off)
- The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition — $3.99 (80% off)
- DmC: Devil May Cry — $12.49 (75% off)
- Mirror’s Edge — $4.99 (75% off)
- Dead Island Riptide — $4.99 (75% off)
- Don’t Starve — $3.74 (75% off)
For an entire database of the sales currently running wild through the network of Steam, you can visit the service’s official website. The database allows users to sort through the nearly 5000 titles based on discount amount, current price, name and game type, among others.
Mike’s Musings: Steam sales represent the most “dangerous” times of the year to be a gamer. With the prices being cut so low, you can easily find yourself dropping a couple hundred dollars on games. At least you are getting plenty of bang for your buck. I can tell you that I will likely drop at least a hundred dollars during this sale on some games that I’ve been waiting to play for some time.
