World Cup: England vs Uruguay starting XI

facebooktwitterreddit

Uruguay was stunned in their World Cup opener against Costa Rica and are looking to dig themselves out of a hole at the bottom of the table. Likewise, the England squad lost a closer match up to a better opponent in Italy, but they’re at the bottom of the table with zero points alongside Uruguay.

Uruguay is getting Liverpool striker Luis Suarez into the starting line up. He sat out that game against Costa Rica following knee surgery roughly a month or so ago following the Premier League season, in which he led all scorers. Whether he plays the full 90 minutes or will be subbed off is yet to be seen.

There was some question about Wayne Rooney and whether he’d remain in the starting line up and it looks like he is all set to start for England again as well. Rooney has been heavily criticized for his lack of production on the sport’s biggest stage.
