After suffering rather severe injuries in a fatal car accident earlier this month, comedian Tracy Morgan has been released from the hospital and will be headed to rehabilitation to try and overcome the damage done to his body.
Morgan was nearly killed in a car accident earlier in June when his limo was struck by a Wal-Mart semi that was apparently speeding and not paying attention to the road. Morgan’s long time comedy writer Jimmy Mack was killed in the crash and Morgan was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, after spending the better part of the month in the hospital, Morgan is off to rehabilitate his body and is leaving the hospital.
“Tracy has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab center, where he is expected to remain for the next few weeks,” said publicist Lewis Kay in a statement. “While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go. He and Megan wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him.”
The immediate career of Morgan has very clearly been put on hold, but FXX is still keeping his upcoming sitcom on the docket and are standing by him for when he returns. It will truly be a tragic yet triumphant return for Morgan who not only needs to learn how to properly walk again but needs to learn how to laugh as well.
Something tells us the latter will be a lot harder then the previous.
