With the NBA Draft less than a week away, teams are starting to step up their efforts to try and see if they can make some big trades happen before the deadline on Thursday to do so arrives.

More from Golden State Warriors

The biggest name being shopped around is Kevin Love and last night we hears a rumor that the Los Angeles Lakers had entered the equation between the Timberwolves and Warriors to help equalize a trade.

Darren Wolfson from ESPN1500 in Minneapolis has promptly shot this rumor down.

The deal seemed to be a bit far fetched to begin with as the Lakers involvement in the trade made little sense. The Wolves have been adamant about getting Thompson back in any deal that they make and throwing in the No. 7 pick makes things more complicated than they have to be.

The Warriors have the assets to make the trade happen on their own, but the big contract of Kevin Martin is where the Lakers would come in and absorb the hit. This deal isn’t happening though so trying to figure out is just a waste of time.
