The Tennessee Volunteers are having quite the day.

More from College

First, former Alabama Crimson Tide running back and current 4-star junior college recruit Alvin Kamara gave his pledge to the Volunteers.

A little later in the day, 3-star defensive tackle Quay Picou and 3-star outside linebacker Austin Smith committed to the Volunteers.

“I committed to Tennessee!” Picou told 247Sports’ Kipp Adams. “All of them! Coach Butch Jones, (running backs) Coach (Robert) Gillespie and (defensive line) Coach (Steve) Stripling. Both Picou and Smith are from Buford, Georgia and attend Buford High School.

Picou is ranked as the country’s 25th-best defensive tackle prospect, the 41st best overall prospect in the state of Georgia and the 436th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings. Picou holds offers from the Cincinnati Bearcats, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Missouri Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Ole Miss Rebels, among others. He was considered by most to be a lean to the Buckeyes, so this was quite a get by Volunteers’ coach Butch Jones and his staff.

Smith is ranked as the country’s 68th-best outside linebacker prospect, the 99th-best overall prospect in the state of Georgia and the 1,004th-best prospect in the class of 2015. He holds offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Cincinnati Bearcats, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Kansas State Wildcats and South Carolina Gamecocks, among others.

The duo become the 15th and 16th commitments for the Volunteers in the class of 2015, which has helped them move into the top-10. Their class now ranks seventh nationally and fifth in the SEC.
