There is yet another scandal involving football players, this time involving two Texas Longhorns allegedly.
The Austin Statesman broke the news:
A UT police spokesman confirmed that an investigation has begun involving three students after a recent on-campus incident. However, UT police would not divulge the identity of any individuals or the location of the incident, citing federal privacy rules. Campus police would not confirm whether anyone involved was a football player, either.
But a source close to the football program said two football players were questioned. The source would not confirm their identity.
There is a lot of unknowns about this situation. Who were the players, if they even were football players? What was the incident? A fight? Public intoxication? Any number of possibilities could occur.
After what happened with the Jameis Winston incident in Tallahassee and the accusations of a star football player being shown favoritism it will be interesting to see how this plays out, if it dies down and their investigation turns out to be inconclusive.
Charlie Strong has preached about his “core values” since being hired to replace Mack Brown and has stated that a violation of those values could result in a player losing a scholarship. Stay tuned to FanSided as we look for more information to come out about the “questioning?”
