Luke Bryan concert trashes Heinz Field

Last year, fights broke out at a Kenny Chesney concert held at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers. There were arrests and the field itself was left torn apart and littered with drunkards’ trash. The stadium executives and the Pittsburgh Steelers themselves said that would not happen again. We all know that money is the only thing that convinces people of what will or will not happen again. so this year it was Luke Bryan’s turn.

Bryan held a concert Saturday night on the same field Chesney did a year ago, and the results were close to being the same.

Fights broke out in the parking lot and in the stadium and 18 arrests were made following the show. The field was torn up and once again “drunkards trash”, as opposed to sober trash, which normally finds its way into the provided trash bins, littered the stadium, parking lot, and the Pittsburgh streets. In hindsight, no one learned much from last year’s mistake.

Bryan, however, can take comfort in knowing that the 18 arrests at his concert pale in comparison to Chesney’s 73 arrests from a year ago. Guess we all know who hosts the better party.

A video from WXPI’s 11 PM news shows the trash, the drunks, and the party scene before the concert, and some of what was left behind following the show. One man couldn’t stand, let alone walk, although he did try, and try again, becoming an amusing GIF in the process.

Bryan’s crowds are normally more subdued as his music doesn’t tend to land on the wild party side. Infused with lyrics of good-natured fun and romantic ballads, Bryan has become one of country music’s best and most talented artists.
