The Boston Celtics are looking at this offseason, and in particular this draft class, to see who they can add that will continue to help this team grow into the monster it once was. There may not be a Paul Pierce 2.0 sitting in this year’s class for the Celtics, but they’re not going to let that deter them from trying to find a small forward for the future.

More from Boston Celtics

Boston has no chance of getting Andrew Wiggins to Jabari Parker as the latter won’t fall past No. 5 overall to the Utah Jazz and Wiggins is likely to be the No. 1 overall pick.

According to Mark Murphy of The Boston Herald, the Celtics are still looking for a small forward in the draft who can be a scoring threat for them, and there may be more than a few options available both times that the Celtics go on the clock.

"Considering that the small forward position routinely offers up the league’s greatest scoring stars, the Celtics would dearly love to find a difference-maker at this position in Thursday’s draft."

Murphy then offers up a few intriguing suggestions like T.J. Warren, James Young and Rodney Hood. All three of those players will more than likely be available at No. 17 overall with possibly one being taken earlier. If the Celtics want a scoring small forward than they’re best off waiting until No. 17 overall than reaching for one at No. 6.

There are intriguing options at both slots, but the draft is deep with interesting prospects and Boston has no reason to do anything other than see what falls to them first and react accordingly second.
