As the deadline for New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony to opt out of his contract approaches, the NBA world is discussing what the next step could be if he decides to become an unrestricted free agent.

More from Chicago Bulls

One of the most likely landing spots seems to be the Chicago Bulls, and it looks like Anthony is considering the option himself.

According to reports, Anthony has already begun doing some research on the city of Chicago in hopes of learning what it would like to be a star athlete in the city.

From ESPN.com:

"Anthony, according to league sources, has already done some homework on the Bulls and the city of Chicago. He’s talked to more than one high-profile person who lives in Chicago about what it’s like to be famous in the Windy City, league sources say."

Anthony has reportedly also previously asked Bulls star Joakim Noah what it is like to play for head coach Tom Thibodeau when the two men were representing the Eastern Conference in this year’s All-Star Game.

Whether or not Anthony opts out and joins Chicago remains to be seen, but he at least appears interested in the possibility.

If that happens, the Bulls fan base will be thrilled to have a Big 3 of Anthony, Noah and Derrick Rose, (if he can stay healthy).

Let the rumors continue to swirl.
