NBA Rumors: Bryon Scott front runner for Los Angeles Lakers job
By Josh Hill
The Los Angeles Lakers are still one of a few teams trying to find a head coach ,which seems strange given the iconic status of the Lakers but isn’t all that surprising given how atrocious they’ve been playing as of late. The Lakers are shells of their former selves and that’s being reflected in the fact that virtually no one of great stature wants the head coaching job that remains open.

The Lakers are zeroing in on candidates though and may have the man for the job. While no hire has been made or looks imminent, Ramona Shelburne from ESPN Los Angeles is reporting that the Lakers have Bryon Scott as the front runner to get hired as the team’s next head coach.
"It’s hard to picture much of anything now with just Bryant, Steve Nash, Robert Sacre, Kendall Marshall and whoever the No. 7 pick turns out to be on the roster for next season. They don’t even have a coach yet, although Byron Scott has already had three interviews and is considered the frontrunner."
It appears that this is the state of the Lakers these days, as no one wants the job and the team is having to dig deep to try and find respectable names to offer the job to. They haven’t officially offered anything to Scott, but he seems to be the guy most mentioned with the job and it seems he may be the breath of fresh air the Lakers need to turn their mess of a franchise around before things start to get really embarrassing for them.
