The Charlotte Hornets are back and with their return to existence so too comes a renewed attempt to be a better team and a more consistently solid team in the future. They may not have been a destination in the past, but that isn’t stopping Michael Jordan from going hard after some big names this summer.

More from Charlotte Hornets

According to NBA scribe Chuck Myron, the Charlotte Hornets may try to sign not one, not two but three massive names this offseason to fully reshape their roster.

"They’ve been connected to just about every free agent with a decent chance of changing teams. The Jefferson signing seemed like an overpay at the time, but it worked wonders for them, and I think they’re going to try to go down that road again. Luol Deng, Lance Stephenson and Pau Gasol are just some of the names I think they’ll pursue. However, I do think they’ll hang on to the No. 9 pick, at least through the draft."

Adding one of those names doesn’t seem that hard as Lance Stephenson would be a perfect fit for a team in need to a leader alongside Kemba Walker. Adding Gasol doesn’t seem that far fetched either but landing Deng to pull off the trifecta seems to be a bit difficult and hard to believe to say the least.

Either way, it’s clear that the winning ways the Bobcats experienced in their final year of existence carried over to the Hornets era and Michael Jordan is not only re-branding the team name, he seems to be re-branding the culture as well.
