Carmelo Anthony’s agent has confirmed that the star forward will be opting out of his contract with the New York Knicks and becoming an unrestricted free agent. Immediately, people will begin to speculate where Anthony will end up next.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

There is a good chance that Anthony re-signs with the Knicks, but he will also have potential suitors in the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat.

Anthony will reportedly also have another interesting suitor in the Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to Pro Basketball Draft, the Cavaliers are expected to reach out to Anthony in hopes of signing him to join forces with Kyrie Irving and whoever the team takes with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

After that, the team will be reaching out to LeBron James.

We have heard that Carmelo and LeBron could team up in South Beach with the Miami Heat or potentially with the Rockets, but the Cavaliers present a very intriguing option.

Cleveland has the cap space to sign both players, but would they be willing to spend the next few years with the Cavaliers?

If both players are serious about winning, teaming up with Kyrie Irving and potentially Andrew Wiggins would immediately give the Cavaliers one of the most impressive rosters in the Eastern Conference and a great chance at making a run to the NBA Finals.

Whether or not it happens remains to be seen, but get your popcorn ready.
