The Los Angeles Clippers are trying to to get together a team that can go the distance next season and that involves beefing up the coaching staff as well. The roster is going to no doubt see some new faces added to the bunch but Doc Rivers’ bench is also going to get some new faces as well and they could come in the form of some pretty useful coaches.

More from Los Angeles Clippers

Maurice Cheeks was fired this year when he failed to get a decent Detroit Pistons roster to play up to par but he may be getting a new chance to prove himself as a coach in the NBA. According to Brad Turner from the Los Angeles, the Clippers are looking at adding Mo Cheeks to the coaching staff for Doc Rivers next season.

Cheeks isn’t going to be getting a head coaching job next season but he might be able to find a way to get back int he good graces of NBA executives if he can help be the missing piece on Doc Rivers’ coaching staff with the Clippers.

Having Cheeks on the staff is going to be something that adds an edge to the Clippers, but it’s far from being a done deal even if it’s starting to make a lot of sense.
