The Toronto Raptors may have a bit of remorse after they decided not to trade point guard Kyle Lowry this past season as multiple teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, are set to show interest in signing the veteran.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Lowry, who was put on the block by the Raptors before the February trade deadline was not moved as Toronto attempted to prepare themselves for a postseason run. That however meant the Raptors would be taking a risk by losing Lowry for nothing, something that’s completely possible as the Los Angeles Lakers are the newest team who will attempt to woo the Villanova product in free agency. The Miami Heat are also said to be interested.

NBA’s David Aldridge reported the news regarding the Lakers, though, did give the Raptors a fair shot at bringing Lowry back as he seems to have fallen in love with the city and fans.

Of course, it’s likely to come down to money and the Toronto Raptors, being they own Lowry’s Bird Rights, can offer the point guard the most money and years in a new contract, though it remains to be seen if they’d be open to doing so.

The Los Angeles Lakers meanwhile will have plenty of cap space to sign Lowry, if they so incline, however they’re also not likely to break the bank given they want to reserve some of their salary cap for other potential free agents (be it this offseason or next).

Regardless, the Lakers are in desperate need of a point guard and there aren’t many places where the lights are bigger than in Hollywood.
