Rihanna rooted for Portugal to beat the United States during World Cup

Ah, Rihanna – we were so tight. Sure, you changed your phone number and threatened to call the authorities last time I was going through your trash can, but we could have had it all. We were perfect for each other. That is until I found out you were rooting for Portugal to defeat the United States in World Cup action.

I mean, really? What were you thinking, RiRi? To just destroy our love?

A few days after the pop starlet gave a shout out to Miroslav Klose (who knew Rihanna was such a futbol fan?), she started live tweeting the Sunday match between Portugal and the United States. The Barbados native seemed rather indifferent for a while, that is, until the final few seconds of the match when Portugal snatched a victory from the United States with an epically clutch goal.

That lead to RiRi posting the following:

Of course, just hours later Rihanna posted a photo of her feet wearing Brazilian flip-flops, so, it seems she’s not sure who to root for which isn’t exactly shocking since she appears to be a New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat fan as well.

I’m guessing she just loves the sport more than the teams, right? Or something like that?

Now, before Rihanna gets bashed too badly – she isn’t exactly a native of the United States and while her support of Portugal seems a little odd given the circumstances, she appears to just enjoy the festivities and games more than anything else.
