The biggest news of the NBA offseason hit on Tuesday morning when LeBron James decided to opt out of his contract with the Miami Heat to test free agency for the second time in his career.

More from Chicago Bulls

This has just about every fan base in the NBA looking at their team to see if they’re a viable landing spot for James and so far it seems we have our top tier of teams and then the rest of the pack who can only dream of adding LeBron.

According to Kurt Helin from NBC Sports, the Chicago Bulls may not have been at the forefront of the discussions about landing LeBron James earlier this offseason, but they seem to be the best landing spot for him if he wants to win rings now and wants to win a lot of them.

"If LeBron is going to leave he is in full legacy building mode now — he needs rings. This is the best place to get them. The Bulls have chased the idea of Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Love as their power forward, LeBron is a big upgrade over either of those. This takes a lot of pressure off Derrick Rose to create all the offense, the Bulls defensive system would become shut down and they would be a threat to any team that came out of the West."

Helin isn’t wrong, as the Bulls seem to be the absolute best place for LeBron James to land, but he probably won’t end up there. The Bulls aree hellbent on addnig Carmelo Anthony and won’t want to tie a ton of money up in LeBron James. But we can’t count Chicago out, as if they’re going to give a max contract to Carmelo Anthony, they would be foolish to not offer the same to LeBron James instead, just to see what happens.

A core of Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, LeBron James and Jimmy Butler is pretty unstoppable and having that group at the disposal of Tom Thibodeau’s coaching might make for one of the strongest teams in NBA history.
