With LeBron James of the Miami Heat opting out of his contract earlier today, the media frenzy over where the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player will be for the 2014-15 regular season has hit a fever pitch.

The Heat, Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets are being looked as potential suitors for James’ services, but one team that’s highly unlikely to throw their name in the running, at least according to Tim Kawakami of the Mercury News, is the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors have been linked to Kevin Love of the Minnesota Timberwolves for the past few weeks, but several sources have noted that a potential deal is “dead” due to the team not wanting to part with guard Klay Thompson in any package.

More from Golden State Warriors

On a recent edition of “The BS Report” with Bill Simmons, ESPN Draft Insider Chad Ford discussed the Warriors and how they may have the pieces to swoon James in free agency should the opportunity present itself.

"If you have Stephen Curry and if you have Kevin Love, why isn’t Golden State a compelling situation to LeBron? It’s a great market. Steve Kerr is a good coach. Stephen Curry. Kevin Love. Two players that are better. Stephen Curry is better than Dwyane Wade. Kevin Love is better than Chris Bosh."

The chances of James ending up in Golden State are extremely low, as Kawakami noted on Twitter. Acquiring Love would be a good start, but even a combination of Curry and Love may not be enough to win over the most dominant player in the NBA today.
