Host nation Brazil is through to the elimination round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, thanks in large part to the foot of their star striker, Neymar Jr. Moving forward in the Round of 16, Neymar will look to keep the goals coming and he will be relying on a special boot from Nike.
On Tuesday, Nike unveiled a photo of a new golden cleat that Neymar will be wearing for the remainder of the tournament.
“The Golden Boot” award is something that goes out to the leading goal scorer of the World Cup after the tournament wraps up, so Nike has to be hoping that Neymar can bring home the award.
Currently, Neymar leads all goal scorers in the World Cup with four goals.
There is also a nice bit of history and back story to Nike’s golden boot for Neymar.

According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, the boot was inspired by a gold shoe that Neymar painted when he was a child.
Now, he will get to bring that look with him to the biggest stage the sport has to offer.
