Oregon Ducks asking you to 'Join the Force' in new football hype video

What do Star Wars, Nike and Oregon Ducks football have in common? Quite a bit actually, and in 2014 the trio take on a new life thanks to the Oregon Ducks hype video and accompanying poster.

The video and poster feature the Ducks in their all-white uniforms from Nike, uniforms many have compared to the Stormtroppers in Star Wars. But the Star Wars theme doesn’t end there, as the Ducks also ask their fans to “Join the Force” and buy season tickets for the 2014 season.

The Star Wars comparisons started for Oregon with the construction of a new football facility that many compared to the famous “Death Star” from George Lucas’ famed films.

Oregon is entering the second year with the “Death Star” in place and head coach Mark Helfrich replacing Chip Kelly as well. In Helfrich’s first season, the Ducks went 11-2 with losses to Pac-12 foes Stanford and Arizona. However, they ended the season with a 30-7 victory over Texas in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

The Ducks will entertain FCS foe South Dakota before hosting the Michigan State Spartans in one of the biggest nonconference matchups in the 2014 college football season.
