The NBA Draft is just around the corner and it seems that teams are starting to make lat minute pushes to get the players that they feel will help make them contenders both next year and for years to come. This draft class happens to have four or five impact players at the top of the order with a varied amount of other players who can be anything from solid starters to excellent role players in their careers.

More from Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics are looking at landing one of those impact players at the top of the draft and feel that they might need to trade above the No. 6 overall spot to get one.

According to the Boston Herald, the Celtics are looking at the No. 1 pick in the draft and could be looking to secure it in a trade. However, as we learned from a Mark Murphy report as well, nothing is imminent and it appears that the Celtics are just feeling out their options as the 11th hour nears.

"According to a league source, Danny Ainge and Co. have talked with all five teams above them in the draft order about trading up from the sixth pick. That includes Cleveland, which has the top pick for the second year in a row.Nothing, though, is imminent."

There are a number of players the Celtics could be eyeing with the No. 1 overall pick but it’s likely that they would take either Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins — the consensus top picks in the draft.
