Since the announcement on Tuesday that LeBron James would be opting out of his deal with the Miami Heat to become a free agent, to rumors of possible destinations have been rampant. Of course, one of the scenarios that seems to be the most popular is for James to return home to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who apparently don’t have their hopes up too high, and neither does their new head coach.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

James making a return to the city where he began his career, and the state he calls home, would be a great story and a fitting end to the drama that began when LeBron had the first “Decision.”

However, according to Sam Amico, the team is not expecting James to give the story that fitting end, and new head coach David Blatt, whom the team recently hired from Maccabi Tel Aviv overseas, has even said as much during a recent radio appearance.

Of course, this won’t stop the team and the new coach from at least making a push to get their star back, it’s just they know there are some better suitors out there at the moment.

The light at the end of the tunnel is that they hold the no. 1 overall pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft, should they decide to keep it and not trade it.

They used a no. 1 pick they had on James to begin his career, so who’s to say they can’t find their own star in a Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins–someone who may not leave them a few years down the road.
