President Snow addresses Panem in new teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Video)

It would seem as if the Capitol is determined to get the Districts in line when the latest installment of The Hunger Games saga The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 hits theaters in November.

Late last week, we showed you a series of new posters that the Capitol had issued to the people of Panem showing each of the Districts’ dedication to the Capitol and all that they have done for their respective people.

Now, Lionsgate has issued a new teaser for the film that shows President Snow addressing the people of Panem, using his use of the spoken word to intimidate people into following him.

In the video, Snow speaks of how since the great uprising was squashed, the Districts have lived in peace. He says that the people’s hard work feeds the Capitol and in return, they feed and protect the people.

What may come as a shock to those of you who have not yet read the novels is that when the camera pans out, we see none other than Peeta Mellark standing by Snow’s side.

These last two installments are going to be some of the most intense and heartbreaking pieces to the puzzle yet. Thankfully, we don’t have too much longer to wait.

In the meantime, take a look at President Snow’s address in the latest teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

Director Francis Lawrence will be returning to direct The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2. He previously directed the second installment in the franchise, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

The script for the film is being penned by Danny Strong, which is of course based off of The Hunger Games book series from bestselling author Suzanne Collins.

The film stars Jennifer Lawrence as the hero of the story, Miss Katniss Everdeen. The film also stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Toby Jones, Sam Claflin, and Jena Malone all reprising their roles from the previous films.

Actress Julianne Moore will be joining the cast as President Alma Coin when The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 hits theaters later this year. Also joining the cast in Part 1 is Game of Thrones actresses Natalie Dormer and Gwendoline Christie, who will be playing Cressida and Commander Lyme respectively.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 21, 2014.
