World Cup Bracket update: Argentina wins Group F, Nigeria second

Group F wasn’t as wide open as some groups heading into their final game of the group stage. Argentina was in first and playing second place Nigeria. A win would’ve given Nigeria first place, and a draw would’ve seen them both through.

Argentina, with two goals from Lionel Messi, managed to win the game and advance. Nigeria gave Argentina everything they had scoring shortly after both of Messi’s goals to tie the game, before a goal from Marcos Rojo gave Argentina the go-ahead goal.

With Nigeria losing, Iran had a chance to steal second place from Nigeria and advance to the knockout round. They struggled against Bosnia and Herzegovina though, a team looking for a win to make their World Cup elimination more respectable.

Bosnia got up 2-0 before a late goal from Iran looked like it was going to set up a thrilling finish, but Bosnia scored a minute later to seal the win. That means Argentina will face the runner-up of Group E and Nigeria will face the Group F winner.
