We are still just under a year away from the film’s release; however, it seems that there is still some decent progress in the creation of the latest chapter in the Insidious saga, Insidious: Chapter 3.
It looks as if the studio has found one of its leads for the upcoming horror fest.
According to the film’s director Leigh Whannell, Crisis actor Dermot Mulroney will be joining the cast of the film.
HUGELY excited to officially announce that great actor/great human Dermot Mulroney has been cast as one of the leads in Insidious Chapter 3!

At this point, there is no word on whether or not we will see any of the leads from the previous two Insidious films return for the third installment; however, based on Patrick Wilson’s interview with IndieWire late last year, it would seem unlikely that we will see him return.
On the flip side, this is Hollywood and things are always subject to change. That is, if they could find a viable story that would properly advance his character without detracting from what they have already accomplished, then I am sure he would be open to discussions, but at the point, there is no guarantee on anything.
The latest installation in the franchise is being both written and directed by Leigh Whannell, who worked on both previous Insidious films alongside former director James Wan. Wan is currently filming Fast & Furious 7.
While Wan will not be directly involved in the script creation or direction of the film, he will remain on the project as a producer.
In addition to Mulroney, the film already has quite a few people attached to the film. Insidious Chapter: 3 will star Stefani Scott, Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson, Anne Bergstedt Jordanova, and more.
Insidious: Chapter 3 is scheduled to be released on April 3, 2015.
