The NHL Draft is tonight and the team at the top of the order will have a decision to make when it comes to either keeping the pick or trading away in any number of the offers they’ve received in the recent months.
The Florida Panthers own the top pick in the draft but the Toronto Maple Leafs have been hot to get it ever since the lottery it seems and the Panthers may finally be considering the trade Leafs fans have been pining for.
According to Mike Kelly from TSN, the Panthers might be finally giving in and trading the No. 1 overall pick in the draft in the 11th hour to the maple Leafs. No deal is official, but Kelly notes the consideration is serious from Florida.

We’ve heard the Maple Leafs starting to go hard after this pick in recent days and it appears that things are starting to work. Florida hasn’t agreed to trade the pick just yet, but if they’re starting to warm to Toronto’s offer then it might only be a matter of time before we see a deal struck that lands the No. 1 pick in Toronto and a promising return in Florida.
