The Miami Heat were apparently in trade talks to sign and trade for Toronto Raptors star guard Kyle Lowry but those reports are apparently dead wrong. Despite following the story for almost 24 hours at this point, Bleacher Report’s Ric Bucher has revealed that the trade he was reporting on was completely and utterly false.

More from Miami Heat

Bucher took to Twitter to officially renege his reporting on the story and report that he had been duped by his sources. To his credit, Bucher took responsibility for the snafu and went on a multi-Tweet apology to his readers and to basketball fans everywhere.

While this was a boneheaded move by Bucher to report a false story, you have to give him a ton of credit for going back and acknowledging his mistake. There are plenty of reporters who report false stories and then pass them off as being just rumors, essentially backing away from taking nay blame.

Granted, Bucher dove head first into this bunk story, but he is at least gracefully trying to recover and wipe the egg off of his face.
