James Michael McAdoo signs with Golden State Warriors for summer league
James Michael McAdoo was supposed to be a big NBA prospect just two years ago, however he waited until the 2014 NBA Draft and never heard his name called on Thursday night. That hasn’t deterred his NBA dream though, as reports indicate McAdoo will join the Golden State Warriors as a free agent.

Golden State is reported to have offered McAdoo the contract to play on its team in the upcoming summer league. The former North Carolina Tar Heel will have a familiar face around him, as Harrison Barnes is also a member of the Warriors team.
McAdoo averaged 14.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in his junior season at North Carolina. He was one of the most hyped players coming out of high school as well, being named a McDonald’s All-American.
In his freshman season McAdoo sprang on to the national stage, averaging 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in limited minutes during the 2011-12 season.
He became a full-time starter for the Tar Heels the next year and averaged 14.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while playing 29.9 minutes per game.
After going undrafted, some questioned the decision of McAdoo to wait two more years to head to the NBA, passing up lottery pick status for continuing to play at the collegiate level.
He’ll be given the chance to prove himself this summer, and that’s all an undrafted player can ask for.
