NHL Draft 2014: Every Carolina Hurricanes pick

The 2014 NHL Draft has come and gone, and the short term, and potentially long term, futures of hundreds of young men have been determined.

The top players went where they were expected to go, while some players made pretty substantial slides down the draft board, including a couple, like Ivan Barbeshev, who were ranked higher up on the final FanSided NHL Draft big board.

The Carolina Hurricanes didn’t really have one specific area to address this year. Instead, they were in a situation to take whoever they felt was the best player available, and that’s exactly what new general manager Ron Francis did.

From the selection of Haydn Fleury in the first round to Lucas Wallmark in round four, the Hurricanes set themselves up nicely for the future with this year’s haul of prospects.
