NHL Draft 2014: Every Chicago Blackhawks pick

The 2014 NHL Draft has come and gone, and the short term, and potentially long term, futures of hundreds of young men have been determined.

The top players went where they were expected to go, while some players made pretty substantial slides down the draft board, including a couple, like Ivan Barbeshev, who were ranked higher up on the final FanSided NHL Draft big board.

If there was team that can draft and not get criticized for picks, other than Detroit, it’s the Chicago Blackhawks. The team took Nick Schmaltz in the first round with hopes that they will be able to get him to perform better in his own zone.

The Blackhawks drafted four American skaters, and seem to be building a nice foundation of US-born players for the future.
