On Saturday morning during the UFC Fight Night 43 post-fight press conference, Tom Wright, the managing director for UFC operations in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, told the media that the promotion will “most likely” be delaying their return to Montreal which was set for Dec. 6.
There was no reason given for why the UFC is considering delaying their Montreal return, but it doesn’t look promising for the Bell Centre to host an event anytime before the end of 2014.
The UFC has also yet to announce the main event for an expected pay-per-view in Toronto, Canada this fall.
It was believed that Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson could take place in Toronto, but the UFC has yet to commit to that location for the event.
There are plenty of kinks that need to work themselves out before we get an official announcement, but it looks like the Canadian MMA fans will need to wait just a little longer until they are greeted with another big event.
