Miami Dolphins to meet Daryn Colledge on Monday
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins are meeting with center Samson Satele on Monday, but he will not be the only veteran center heading South to Davie, Florida, home of the Miami Dolphins. The Miami Herald is reporting that the team will also meet with and work out free agent center Daryn Colledge.

Colledge, a former member of the Arizona Cardinals, has extensive starting experience, playing both guard and center. Colledge has started 124 of 128 games in his eight NFL seasons and started his career in Green Bay with the Packers. He was coached by Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin, who was the team’s offensive line coach at the time. He played five of his eight seasons with the Packers before joining the Cardinals for his last three.
According to Pro-Football Focus, Colledge ranked 45th out of 81 guards last season. He was ranked 32nd in pass coverage and 53rd in run blocking.
The Dolphins are installing a hybrid offensive system this off-season under new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. Lazor’s offense will use parts of the West coast offense, and parts of the spread formation used by Chip Kelly last year with the Philadelphia Eagles. Lazor served as the team’s quarterback coach in 2012.
The Dolphins are in need of a veteran center after losing starting center Mike Pouncey for at least the next three months. Pouncey had labrum surgery last week following a hip injury he suffered during the teams mandatory mini-camp.
Miami will begin training camp at the end of July and the team could use Nate Garner or second-year guard-center Sam Brenner to replace Pouncey if they don’t find a suitable free agent option.
The Dolphins will also, according to the report, work out Samson Satele and two other unnamed lineman.
