NBA Rumors: Pau Gasol considering return to Los Angeles Lakers

NBA free agency is going to be opening in a few days and with it will come a slew of big rumors involving big names hitting the open market. While the world is transfixed on LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and others, we are continuing to forget about the free agent status of big man Pau Gasol, who will be testing the open market this summer.

Gasol has had most of his success with the Los Angeles Lakers but he’s been growing sick and tired of having to deal with endless trade rumors over the years as it’s eroded him into a state of loathing. But all is not lost for the Lakers as it seems that the Spanish big man is having a a change of heart in the 11th hour.

According to Ramona Shelburne from ESPN Los Angeles, the Lakers interest in Pau Gasol has now led to Gasol himself being open to returning to Los Angeles for the 2014-15 season.

"While free-agent forward Pau Gasol grew tired of the persistent trade rumors that followed him for the better part of the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, he would give strong consideration to re-signing with the team, according to sources with knowledge of the situation."

This doesn’t mean that Gasol is for sure going to be coming back tot he Lakers but what it does mean is that we can expect the team to make run at him in the offseason to bring him back and show him that they do indeed appreciate him after all.
