There have been rumors for quite some time about Marvel branching out and making another standalone Hulk film. Those rumors intensified last week when Mark Ruffalo told David Letterman that Marvel was softening its stance on a new Hulk film.

This leaves fans to ponder of the next big question that comes with the prospect of the new film; which story line the film will eventually follow.

There have been rumblings that the next film would follow along the Planet Hulk storyline which sees the big, green monster head into outer space to a planet full of gladiators; however, there may not be that much weight to that rumor, at least according to Ruffalo.

Ruffalo sat down with MTV alongside his co-stars Adam Levine and Keira Knightley from the upcoming film Begin Again, and as with every interview he will conduct in the next year or so, the line of questioning quickly turned to The Avengers and/or standalone Hulk movie.

When asked if he thought that Planet Hulk was the way to go in the potential new standalone Hulk film, he was quick to turn down the idea.

"“Planet Hulk? I don’t think that’s the way to go yet.” Ruffalo tells MTV News. “I think you need more Banner.”"

While I do think that the Planet Hulk story line would be an interesting one to travel down, I can definitely see Ruffalo’s point. With there already being two different Hulk movies out there, each of them with a different actor, I think fans really need a little more one on one time with Bruce Banner before moving on to a film that is pretty much 99% big green guy.

Here is a look at Mark Ruffalo’s interview with MTV News if you’d like to check it out for yourself.
