Lillard has already stated that he wants the Portland Trail Blazers to re-sign Mo Williams, who opted-out of his contract in late June. But in addition to that, the former Weber State guard wants the Blazers to look at free agents like Vince Carter, Spencer Hawes, Channing Frye and Trevor Ariza, this according to CSNNW.com.
While Ariza is unlikely given the vast amount of interest in the small forward, Carter, Hawes and Frye all seem to be logical candiates to sign with the Blazers.
Carter has expressed a sentiment to return to the Dallas Mavericks, something the Mavericks themselves have stated as well though that will likely come down to money. As for Spencer Hawes, he has expressed a desire to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers however Hawes is native to the Northwest and may relish the chance to play near his home in Washington. Channing Frye meanwhile is drawing interest from a small handful of teams, though Andre Iguodala of the Golden State Warriors is said to be recruiting his former college teammate. Frye however has played for the Blazers before and knows both their franchise and fans well, which could be a plus for the organization.
