Carmelo Anthony rumors: Bulls target has dinner with Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah

On Tuesday, the NBA free agency period officially opened and one of the most highly sought after players, Carmelo Anthony, made his first free agent visit. That visit was to meet with the Chicago Bulls.

Anthony has already completed his visit with the Bulls brass, but now he is familiarizing himself with some of the top stars on the roster.

According to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, Anthony is spending his Tuesday night out to a dinner with Chicago Bulls stars Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.

Rose had previously shown very little interest in helping to recruit a free agent, but he seems to have changed his tune.

So now all the nitwits who have been harping on Rose and the recruiting issue can now let it go.

    • Road Dog

Only if Melo signs !!! If he dont they will blame it on Derrick !!!!

    • Road Dog

Yeah, to make the best offer they would be need Boozer,Dunleavy &, Jimmy’s contracts removed from the cap. I too believe Melo wants Taj because he really likes playing 3 instead of 4. He can play 4 but as you know there will be more of a beating to take. I’d hate to loose Jimmy too, he’s just now coming into his own.

      • Leroy Boyd

Yea hate to lose jimmy but maybe they go get somebody that can shoot and play the 2.

        • Road Dog

They can, but his DEFENSE is what will be missed. Thoes steals, his ability to defend most 2′s and 3′s in the league is what we’ll miss.

Maybe Snell will rise up to the job

          • Road Dog

Tony has all the potential, I personally dont think his body will develop fast enough.
I hope he’s been hitting the weight room !!!

          • Leroy Boyd

Not worried about his weight but his confidence if he feels he is going to start he might just explode on the scene

          • Road Dog

So true, look at what confidence for Kawhi Leonard !!!

          • Leroy Boyd

Yea I see your point but it all happens if Melo demands more than Bulls can give. If the Bulls amnesty Boozer trade Dunleavy and Butler that gets to about 17 mil first year. Houston trading Lin can create more space LA has the whole level open Dallas can also provide more money. But signing with LA Houston or Dallas could still result in a first round exit. The idea that going to either of these teams is not as good as an opportunity that he will have with the Bulls.

Going back to the knicks gives him 129 mil keeps his wife happy and gives Phil time to hope that he can get other FA to drink the kool aid.

Expecting that Phil will devise a plan in 5 years for the Knicks to win I dont know but by the time he can arrange for the knicks to win Melo could be 35 and chances are Melo will be just like Bernard King and Patrick Ewing great Knick players but no title

          • Road Dog

I Agree, Lets see if its about a real chance to win now or $$$$????
            Bernard was my man !!!

          • Leroy Boyd

Both Bernard and Ewing were players I love to see play but against the Bulls I didnt care what they did we were going to beat them. Like you said its money or titles for Melo

  • Road Dog

I’d like to know what kind of $$$$ they offered Melo before they actually amniestied BOOOOOOZER ????

    • Julie CzerwinWeaver

Phil will not take Booz. However, if Melo chooses Chicago, I believe he will suck it up and help Chicago in a sign and trade deal. Just my opinion

      • Road Dog

He would have, but it seems like Melo likes $$$ over winning !!! What a Liar if he stays in NY !!!

        • Julie CzerwinWeaver

Well, I have to say he likes money over a championship. Thibs will use this as leverage to get the team psyched up when we play him too. Thibs already made a few comments if you read between the lines, he is not thrilled. Mello knew what he was doing the whole time. Thibs knew Melo’s team putting out he was having a hard time choosing between the two teams was a joke. Don’t expect Melo to get cheered at the Madhouse! Thibs put alot of time and effort on him. I think Thibs is kinda insulted.

          • Road Dog

Yes, Yes, & Yes. Now that most of the dust has setteled, we are LQQKING pretty good.
Someone said that we should’nt BOO Melo but we know that wont happen. He will get his own motivation from that but we will WIN our games against NY. I will mark my schedule for the first home game against the Knicks, and will love it when the buzzer sounds at the end of the game to see the LIAR’S face when he walks off the court. Rose,Noah,Gasol,Buttler,Dunleavy,Gibson,Hinrich,Snell,McDermott,Mirotic & CO will put a whipping on the Knicks and will be the Eastern Conference Champions in 14-15. Go Bulls.

  • Julie CzerwinWeaver

I don’t think Houston or Dallas can court Melo the way Chicago did. Go Bulls! If it doesn’t work, then we move on.

    • Road Dog

They have a better non winning pkg to offer, weather,Texas tax break, and the whoever reaches 125 pts wins. We’ll see if winning a champioship is his priority ???
