Floyd Mayweather confirms rematch with Marcos Maidana on September 13

A few months ago, Floyd Mayweather stepped into the ring against Marcos Maidana, and while he walked away with yet another win, it was probably the one that he had to earn the most. Maidana stuck with Mayweather for 12 rounds better than anyone had before, leading to speculation that there could be a rematch between the two this September.

While there has been no official deal struck as of yet, Mayweather did confirm that the fight will indeed happen and we will all be treating to a boxing clinic one more time with these two squaring off in the ring.

In reality, there really was no other way for Floyd to go for his September fight this year. Even when interviewed immediately after the hardest fought victory of his career, Mayweather said that he would absolutely be open to giving Maidana a rematch at some point.

Despite how great this second fight should be, there are still many that are clamoring for the long awaited showdown with Manny Pacquiao. However, those are probably folks that didn’t see just how great the first Mayweather-Maidana battle was.

Maidana will no doubt be out to show everyone that his performance against the undefeated Mayweather back in May was absolutely no fluke, which will just add to the drama.
