The Indiana Pacers don’t have much available spending money this offseason, so what money they do spend needs to be used wisely. One such target they have in mind is shooter C.J. Miles, who they may be interested in signing with a $2.1 million dollar exception, this according to Yahoo Sports.

More from Indiana Pacers

Miles is known for his perimeter shot, however, last season was rather sub-par which may have reduced his asking price – a plus for the Indiana Pacers. Clearly in need of some firepower from the bench, such a signing would be a solid addition for the Pacers though they’re unlikely to be the only interested suitor.

The sharpshooting Miles isn’t likely to command much bigger of a salary than the one reportedly offered by the Indiana Pacers, however, it’s not known how many years are attached to the deal or if it’s a single year contract. It’s possible Miles could be looking for more financial security or it’s also possible he may be looking to re-build his value and enter free agency next season with better statistics under his belt.

Of course, the Pacers probably use their bench the least out of any team in the NBA (or at least, that’s been their recent track record) so C.J. Miles might not get much of a chance to show off his skills though he’ll be on one of the better teams in the NBA and will be fighting for a championship, something many teams can’t offer.

Miles, who spent last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, put up nearly 10 points per game in 20 minutes per contest.
