Filming is well underway on the long-anticipated next chapter in the Star Wars saga, Star Wars: Episode VII.
The new film is going to give fans a look at what happened to some of their favorite characters like Luke Skywalker, his sister Princess Leia Organa, and even the dashing Han Solo; however, it looks as if we will get a deeper look than initially imagined.
Carrie Fisher breathed life into Princess Leia back in 1977, and has been one of the most iconic sci-fi characters ever since. If the rumors are believed, the apple may not fall far from the family tree.
According to the Daily Mail UK, Billie Lourd, the daughter of Carrie Fisher and Hollywood agent Bryan Lourd, is set to play a younger version of Princess Leia in Star Wars: Episode VII.
If the report is to be believed, she will be featured in flashback scenes, which would be something entirely new for the Star Wars franchise.
Now, don’t get too excited just yet. None of these reports have been confirmed by Walt Disney, Lucasfilm, or anyone else associated with the production of the film.
The good news is, despite the unfortunate injury to Harrison Ford, the film is still currently on track for its December 2015 release date.
Star Wars: Episode VII is being directed by the director of the most recent Star Trek films J.J. Abrams. Abrams also co-wrote the script for the film with Lawrence Kasdan, the man responsible for the screenplays for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
The film reunites all of your favorite rebels like Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, and Peter Mayhew. Joining the Star Wars universe in Episode VII is Domhnall Gleeson, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Max von Sydow, Andy Serkis, and many more.
