3 new vignettes bridge 11 year gap of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set to hit theaters in a short nine days, the time period between Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn is 11 years. Since the first film ended the Simian Flu has ravaged the world and man is struggling to survive and fend off the new species of ape. But what happened between the first and the 2nd film? We now have an idea thanks to three new vignettes that have appeared courtesy of 20th Century Fox.

20th Century Fox partnered with Vice Media’s Motherboard to create three “Before the Dawn.” A three part series of short films that capture man’s descent into total chaos. The short films are titled, Quarantine, All Fall Down, and The Gun.

Each film takes on a different time period from the first film to the second. Quarantine takes place one year after Rise, All Fall Down takes place five years after, and The Gun takes place one year before the start of Dawn.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has been receiving solid early reviews and is buoyed by a strong marketing campaign. One that obviously decided to bridge the gap between the films. You can see all three of the short films below.
