New uniforms, crazy combinations and chrome helmets have been all the rage in college football over the last few years. Now, well it appears a new trend is catching fire, as Louisville becomes the latest school to go all-black on us.
Head coach Bobby Petrino took to the stage at 4th Street Live in Louisville to unveil a new era in the schools membership in the ACC. As part of that speech he brought out a new look Cardinals uniform. Not only will the Cardinals have black jerseys, they will have black pants and flashy black helmets too boot.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen black uniforms from Louisville, but the black chrome helmets are definitely new to the fold. Those helmets will feature the black chrome and straight red cardinal on it.
Petrino also announced that these uniforms will be used in the season opener when Louisville takes on Miami (FL).
