The Dallas Mavericks were slated to meet with New York Knicks forward and coveted free agent Carmelo Anthony on Wednesday. Anthony met with the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday and was meeting with the Houston Rockets on Wednesday before making the trip to Dallas.

The only problem is that the meeting with the Rockets lasted six hours, much longer than what was scheduled. Because of that, it looks like the Rockets’ meeting will cut short Carmelo’s meeting with the Mavericks. A some what brilliant move by Houston, intentional or not, to affect the meeting of their in-state rivals.

The Mavericks aren’t giving Anthony tours of their facilities, instead electing to host the meeting at a “private” and “undisclosed” location, so that could help them save some time.
