Venus Van Dam to return in the final season of Sons of Anarchy

We are still months away from the start of the seventh, and unfortunately final, season of the hugely popular FX Original Series Sons of Anarchy; however, as the production of the final season kicks into high gear, we are slowly getting an idea what the road ahead holds in store for the guys of SAMCRO.

Just about two weeks ago, we showed you a not-so-revealing image from the set of Episode 702 which showed what looks like Jax Teller laying on a bed in the dark.

While there is no telling where he actually is in the pic, whether it is his house, the ice cream shop where the club conducts most of their business, or the inside of a jail cell; however, we do know that the boys of SAMCRO are in for one wild ride when the final season gets started.

Speaking of the members of SAMCRO, I know one of them who is going to be particularly excited about the news that came to light today.

Series creator Kurt Sutter took to Twitter today to let fans know about the return of a character who quickly became a favorite over the course of the last two seasons of the series.

“I am very happy to report that in season 7 of SOA, THERE WILL BE SOME MUTHA******N’ VENUS!”

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen. Our favorite transgendered woman Venus Van Dam will be strutting back onto our screens in the seventh and final season of Sons of Anarchy.

I can guarantee you that Tig is going to be happy about this.

Venus, who is played in the series by Justified actor Walton Goggins, was first introduced into the series in Season 5; however, she was given a much bigger role in the sixth season where we got to know a lot more about her background.

When last we saw her, the club had just helped her get her son Joey out of a very dangerous situation with Venus’ mother that involved a child pornography ring. Then, she and Tig put Joey on a bus to Seattle to stay with some of Venus’ friends until he was old enough to go out on his own.

Venus and Tig seem to have a very touching relationship. This is something we have not seen from him throughout the entire course of the series. We know that he is capable of love, as we have seen him interact with his daughters; however, romantic love was never quite Tig’s strong point.

Whether or not we will further explore the unique relationship between the two in the upcoming season is unknown at this point. Thankfully, Sutter has kept almost all of the plot points under wraps

While there is a part of me that would like to know every single little detail of the upcoming season, this is going to be the final ride for SAMCRO, and there is something special about watching it all play out in front of you on the television.

Where would you like to see Venus’ story go in the upcoming final season of Sons of Anarchy? Where do you think she fits in to SAMCRO’s final ride? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
