The filming of Fast and Furious 7 took a tragic turn last November when series star Paul Walker was killed in a car accident but the production pressed on and we now have not only a completed film to honor the memory of Walker but we have a film that will be hitting theaters a week early as well.
According to Variety, the film will now be hitting theaters a week earlier than projected at April 3, 2015 is the new tentative release date that Universal is rolling with.
This is great news for fans of the series as it means the film will be seen sooner in the summer movie season than we originally thought, but it’s still looking to be a bitter sweet moment. There is a lot of buzz around the film following the death of Paul Walker as Fast and Furious 7 marks the final film he’ll ever appear in, which is beyond a heavy thought.
Still, the film franchise will likely celebrate the life of Walker and it’s been noted that he won’t be killed off but rather retired as a character with the help of Walker’s real life brothers helping as stand-ins for scenes he was unable to finish.
It’s yet to be seen if the film will hold up but there will no doubt be score of fans lining up to see the final Paul walker Fast and Furious film and all those fans now get to line up a week earlier than they were planning.
